As a Software Statistician, you will contribute to the development and testing of Cytel s innovative and market-leading statistical software
You will be responsible for studying and understanding complex statistical algorithms, and testing their implementation in software products, thereby ensuring high quality delivery of these products to clients
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Study relevant scientific resources like published statistical research papers and technical specifications of statistical algorithms.
Develop validators for statistical algorithms in R, Python, etc using available specifications and under the guidance of senior statisticians.
Based on available test strategy, create and execute test cases on the application, and report and track any defects to closure.
Learn and follow Cytel s processes applicable to your work.
Estimate and plan your own work under the guidance of seniors.
Collaborate with team members (developers, product owners, subject matter experts, etc) in an agile manner to deliver high-quality software products.
Master relevant statistical methods, tools, and technologies.
Comply with relevant company policies.
Keep knowledge up to date by undergoing appropriate training and courses.
Familiarize yourself with Cytel s values and competencies and incorporate them into your work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master s or Ph.D. in Statistics or Mathematics
Experience:
0-2 years of experience developing or testing scientific applications involving statistical/mathematical algorithms
Skills:
Strong knowledge of Statistics or Applied Mathematics (numerical methods, calculus, linear algebra, mathematical modeling, statistical methods, probability theory, etc)
Strong mathematical and logical aptitude, and analytical skills
Knowledge of R, Python, or any scientific programming language
Self-driven with the ability to think creatively and solve complex problems
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Collaborative mindset
Optional Skills:
Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of frameworks like Scrum
Domain knowledge related to clinical trials
Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies
