Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lean Improvement Engineer to join our team and drive operational excellence through the application of Lean methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of capacity management and product family analysis, enabling them to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams to achieve continuous improvement goals. Key Responsibilities: Capacity Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of current production capacity for different product families. Analyze production bottlenecks, constraints, and resource limitations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for increasing capacity through process improvements. Develop capacity models to predict potential improvements and validate outcomes. Product Family Mapping: Categorize and map products into families based on shared process steps, characteristics, and resource requirements. Identify commonalities and differences within product families to streamline production processes. Work with production and engineering teams to standardize processes across product families Lean Methodology Application: Apply Lean principles and tools (e.g., value stream mapping, 5S, SMED) to identify waste and opportunities for process optimization. Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and improvement workshops to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and implement standardized work procedures to ensure consistent processes and quality across product families. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Use statistical methods to measure process performance and quantify improvements. Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and demonstrate the impact of improvement initiatives. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align improvement projects with organizational goals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by engaging and training team members at all levels. Project Management: Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for improvement initiatives. Monitor and track progress, ensuring timely completion of projects and achievement of goals. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Strong background in Lean methodologies, process improvement, and capacity management. Proficiency in using data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Tableau). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and facilitating workshops. Effective communication skills to convey complex ideas and solutions clearly. Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously. Knowledge of Six Sigma principles (certification is a plus). Strong commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
