Write world class documentation for Portworx products. Combine your excellent communication skills with a strong knowledge of software development. Work with Kubernetes and Portworx to thoroughly understand and test the features and documentation you re writing. Work with a globally distributed team across time zones in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Be a highly collaborative worker and an enthusiastic communicator. Actively participate in software development by attending daily or weekly sync meetings, uncover features for documentation, report on documentation status for release features, and meet release deadlines for your areas of responsibility. Help your fellow colleagues do the same by providing reviews, feedback, and edits on their writing. Research new technologies, both externally at an industry level, and internally at the product level. In your research, interface with engineers and other subject matter experts directly to understand the features you re documenting. You will then use those features yourself on the same production software and systems as your users. Push the limits of docs-as-code practices by leveraging your development skills to build new documentation experiences, make architectural and infrastructure improvements, and improve the build pipeline for documentation automation. Explore generative AI to accelerate content generation. Lead by example, showing other team members how to improve their writing and programming skills, suggest improvements to content strategy, interactivity, and automation. Core Job Duties Work with technical staff to research, write, edit, and maintain software documentation Write release notes Work with a globally distributed team Attend daily or weekly meetings and syncs Follow a style guide to write consistently and appropriately Review colleagues writing Write programs and build automation to improve tooling and content generation Mandatory requirements Excellent command of the English language with an emphasis on writing for a global audience of developers 6 years of experience in technical writing for software 2 year of experience in web development Familiarity with the following technologies: Linux command-line applications Git HTML, CSS, JS, React Familiarity with docs-as-code concepts and static site generators Preferred Requirements Experience with containerization: kubernetes, Docker Experience with cloud services, virtualization, networking Experience writing for open source projects using Markdown Familiarity with agile development methodologies and comfortable working in sprints Familiarity with generative AI
