Job Title: Payroll Specialist - North America (Contingent Worker - 12-month Contract) Location: Remote (Most locations in the country of employment) Job Type: Contract Experience: 5+ years of payroll experience Education: Associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent job experience Overview: A global professional network is seeking a highly ambitious and motivated Payroll Specialist - North America to join its India-based team on a contingent worker basis for a 12-month contract. This role is responsible for payroll operations, accounting, and employment tax, supporting approximately 16,000 employees in the United States and Canada. Responsibilities: Payroll Data Administration: Gather payroll inputs from source data systems. Prepare and process data validations and transmissions. Handle time and attendance, wage withholdings, equity types, bonus compensation, and benefits. Data Metrics & Analytics: Apply knowledge and skills of data input and output activities from HRIS systems. Perform audits using data analysis tools. Stakeholder Support & Strategic Partnership: Provide excellent oral and written communication for payroll inquiries. Manage the ticketing queue. Support the company workforce. Employee Customer Services and Ticket Management: Own continuous improvements of payroll FAQ and knowledge article resources. Ensure SLAs are Effectively Met: Manage Payroll Service Queue to meet service level agreements. Documentation & Compliance: Document and review payroll pre-processes in line with compliance, control requirements, and best practices. Special Projects: Participate in and support special projects. Qualifications: Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent job experience. 5+ years of payroll experience. Additional Skills & Preferred Competencies: Multi-state U.S. and Canada Payroll experience. Knowledge of labor, leave, compensation, and benefits. Strong audit and validation skills. Interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication. Experience in managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in a remote work environment is a plus. Suggestive Skills: Advanced usership in Microsoft Excel. Experience with various HRIS and Payroll Systems.
