Job Desciption- As the ERP Manufacturing and Purchasing Applications Manager, you will oversee the design, implementation, and support SAP MM/PP and related applications. You will manage a team of Business Analysts responsible for the implementation of large, complex business and systems initiatives within the Global IT organization. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of the technical delivery of projects under your domain. You will partner with business Project Managers to deliver a complete solution to the Branches and the enterprise. This position requires excellent business process design experience, understanding of business objectives and value management, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with business partners, IT, senior management and vendor organizations. This position is a member of the Global IT Applications team, reporting to the ERP & Finance Applications Senior Manager. In this position you will work with the MM/PP team and assign work, assist and train other members of the team. You will work closely with the business partners, review requests, prioritize requests and assign them to the proper resources in the team. You will also be responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of SAP ERP System, with a focus on the Materials Management and Production Planning modules. Your focus will be on ensuring that solutions designed in our SAP ERP environment are done with sustainable, high quality, and best practice design in mind. You will also review other team members work and ensure the quality meets. You will be highly experienced in the MM/PP and related SAP modules as a functional/technical expert and hands-on configurator, but will have also had a broad understanding of SAP. You should have implementation experience with a global manufacturing company, and understand both systems configuration, and overall systems architecture in an SAP environment. You will also be responsible for managing a queue of support requests, as well as potentially working with offshore teams to support the ERP system. You will also be responsible for technical delivery and have both project management responsibilities as well as team leadership qualities as part of his/her job role. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time) Responsible for managing the MM/PP team to deliver robust and efficient SAP S/4 Hana solutions that cater to the business demands. As part of this role the manager provides functional and technical guidance for decisions made on the SAP ERP landscape as it pertains to his/her area of focus. Seek to use best practices, standards, and the right partners and vendors to provide solutions to meet business objectives. Ensure that the team also follows the same standards. (30%) Manage all aspects of large, complex IT projects or multiple IT projects with minimal direction including project planning, execution, timing, requirements management, quality and cost. Deliver a portfolio of approved IT projects/deliverable on time, on budget, with expected quality and value generation. (25%) Provide team leadership and mentoring through group and one and one interactions and the implementation of development plans with each of your direct reports. (15%) Develop new standards, best practice guidelines, solution diagrams, and documentation standards for all ERP and related solutions. Ensure that standards are adhered to, and that documentation and change control processes are followed across the Applications Organization. (10%) Work with outside partners and vendor organizations, providing oversight on deliverables. Ensure that we have consistency across all our processes and enhancement work. Ensure that work provided by partners meets Simpson’s internal standards, and is ultimately accountable for the solutions delivered. (10%) Will have direct supervisory responsibility for a team of resources. Will provide work guidelines, task assignment and work direction, performance measurement, and overall team management for the MM/PP team. (10%) DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: B.S. degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field required. PMP Certification, SAP Certification in MM and PP modules, APICs certification and/or ITIL Foundational Certification preferred 7 years SAP implementation experience with hands-on configuration experience in the MM/PP Module. 7 years responsibility for designing custom solutions within the ECC landscape as well as solutions involving integrations with external systems. 5 years global manufacturing company experience preferable with both discrete and continuous manufacturing models. 5 years responsibility for translating business requirements into an SAP solution design. 4 years Applications Team Management Experience, preferably with globally dispersed teams. 2 years managing others.
