Multiple teams in Chewy's Supply Chain Research and Planning organization are seeking Data Scientist Interns to join our growing teams. Combining a background in Supply Chain with a deep understanding of analytics and data science, you will be part of an organization responsible for strategic planning and research initiatives centered around our inventory and fulfillment.
Internship Timeframe: June 3rd – August 9th, 2024 (must be available for the full duration)
Qualified Students: 3rd year Ph.D. student
What you'll do:
Develop and implement models and algorithms to solve complex supply chain problems using operations research, statistics, and machine learning technologies
Deep dive large supply chain data to explain change, develop insights, and provide recommendations
Partner with Supply Chain’s functional areas (with Demand Planning, S&OP, Transportation, and Supply Planning) to streamline and optimize our Supply Chain across the board
Implement process improvement initiatives that drive improvements to the metrics and streamline the Supply Chain
What you'll need:
3rd year Ph.D. student in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited Ph.D. program with an anticipated graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
Python mastery, and proficiency in SQL.
Ability to understand and apply advanced mathematics and statistics.
Compensation & Benefits
Our hourly rate for Data Scientist Intern positions is $41. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k.
