Colgate-Palmolive invites you to apply for the Summer 2021 Data Science Internship for the Global Information Technology (GIT) organization. In this 6-month program, you will help identify areas of potential insights within our business teams and work alongside data scientists using state of the art machine learning techniques to deliver meaningful results.
Responsibilities will include:
Use statistics and machine learning techniques to explore and understand relationships within datasets.
Work directly with Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Data Engineers to build solutions and provide analytical support.
Guide business users to ask good questions to maximize value from their data
Collaborate with business teams to optimize their current workflow using analytics
Help drive the adoption of advanced analytical tools within the organization
Qualifications:
Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor s or Master s degree program (Master s degree preferred)
Majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a similar field with a focus on predictive analytics
A minimum GPA of 2.8
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Availability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week
Experience analyzing data with a scripting language (Python or R), SQL
Knowledge of basic machine learning types (regression, classification, ensemble methods)
Knowledge of statistical methods and hypothesis testing
Familiarity with relational databases, as well as unstructured data
Willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Communicate and visualize technical results to non-technical audiences (business teams, leaders, and senior management)
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing
Experience with the following technologies:
Popular Python packages (sklearn, scipy, numpy, pandas, keras, matplotlib, plot.ly)
Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform
Project management tools (Git, Trello)
