Description
The Content Writer at Jesus Calls will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content that communicates the organization's mission, values, and initiatives across various platforms. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Develop high-quality written content for a variety of channels, including website copy, blog posts, articles, social media posts, email newsletters and promotional materials, that effectively communicates the organization's message and resonates with target audiences.
Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives and stories that showcase the impact of Jesus Calls' programs, initiatives, and testimonials, capturing the attention and emotions of readers and inspiring action and engagement.
Research: Conduct research on relevant topics, trends, and issues related to the organization's mission and work, gathering information from internal sources, external sources, and interviews with subject matter experts, to inform content creation and ensure accuracy and credibility.
Editing and Proofreading: Edit and proofread written content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines and style standards. This includes reviewing grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, and formatting.
Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to develop and implement content strategies and editorial calendars that align with organizational goals and objectives, target audience preferences, and channel-specific requirements.
SEO Optimization: Optimize written content for search engines (SEO) by incorporating relevant keywords, meta tags, and other SEO best practices to improve search visibility, drive organic traffic, and increase website rankings.
Content Distribution: Assist in the distribution and promotion of written content across various channels, including social media platforms, email campaigns, and online publications, to reach and engage target audiences effectively.
Content Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of written content using analytics tools and metrics, such as website traffic, engagement rates, conversion rates, and social media metrics, to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration: Collaborate with graphic designers, multimedia producers, translators, and other content creators to develop multimedia content assets, such as videos, infographics,, that complement written content and enhance storytelling efforts.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in content marketing, storytelling, and communications, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role, with a portfolio of published writing samples demonstrating creativity, storytelling ability, and writing proficiency.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling content for diverse audiences and channels.
Excellent research skills and attention to detail, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate new ideas, adapt to feedback, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
