Job Description Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cybersecurity Engineer to join our company. The ideal candidate for this position must be a self-learner driven by their passion for technology who aims toward continuous improvement. They will also possess a strong enthusiasm for cybersecurity, automation, engineering efficient solutions, and ability to support and enhance security awareness in the organization. The Cybersecurity Engineer will drive technical and process contributions to improve the company’s security posture, working with a broad range of teams – including infrastructure engineers, application developers, and business owners – to design, implement, and operate security solutions. They will serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas. Areas of responsibility will include threat and vulnerability management, application security, security orchestration and automation, and security operations tasks. Critical Job Functions: Provide technical expertise and efficient execution as part of an Information Security Team within a growing company. Perform daily security operations tasks as needed, including but not limited to: Triage of various security alerts. Vulnerability Management processes. Endpoint Security Operations. Email Security Operations. Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements. Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations. Collaborate with Infrastructure Teams to design and build secure technologies. Recommend, design, build, and deploy new tools and platforms that help automate, streamline, and scale security operations efforts. Assist in providing guidance for remediation for internal and external vulnerability scans and penetration tests. Provide continuous monitoring, maintenance, and support of new and existing security toolsets and systems to ensure resilience, reliability, and scalability. Collaborate with development teams to advise on application security functions and aim to put security at the forefront of the SDLC process. Act as a Tier III escalation point for security requests and incidents. Stay informed on recent industry trends and developments to be proactive in actions whenever possible. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a security operation role. Scripting and automation experience working with REST APIs. Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Endpoint Detection and Response. Next Generation Firewall Systems. Vulnerability Management. Email Security Systems. Incident Response. Possess a positive and proactive attitude towards customer support and a desire to help people. Ability to effectively multitask and work on multiple projects and various other tasks in tandem. Highly disciplined and able to work independently and without direct supervision. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. 7+ years of IT Experience preferred. 5+ years of experience in a security operation and/or engineering role preferred. Experience working with securing Cloud technologies preferred. Relevant industry certifications such as SSCP, CySA+, PenTest+, etc. preferred.
