Flow Traders is looking for a Security Engineer to join our growing Technology team in New York. The ideal candidate has hands on experience across the spectrum of cyber security tools and is comfortable working with an international team to manage day to day security operations and security projects. As a Security Engineer, you will analyze, interpret, and handle alerts, security logs and network flows. You will implement firewall rules, manage security incidents, and routinely audit and document the environment. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding our security infrastructure and will collaborate closely with global colleagues and other IT teams, like networking or enterprise systems.

What you will do
Manage and maintain the security of our physical and virtual IT infrastructure
Address critical vulnerabilities and provide reports to management
Conduct vulnerability scans and create action plans to resolve findings
Install and maintain security infrastructure, including IPS/IDS, log management, SIEM and SOAR systems
Establish preventative and detective measures against external and internal threats
Create security awareness within the organization and educate and guide team members and coworkers
What you need to succeed
5+ years of professional Cyber Security experience
Bachelor’s degree (preferably Cyber Security, Computer Science or applicable STEM)
Strong attention-to-detail, self-starter, highly organized, methodical and strong communicator (inc. English fluency)
Working proficiency with firewalls, application security scanning and security orchestration
Working proficiency with scripting and/or research language (e.g. Python) is a plus
Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM are a plus
