Essential Responsibilities
Project Management
Organize, manage, and lead multiple project implementations in a fast-paced IT environment across multiple functional teams
Manage all phases of IT application development projects, including initiation, planning, execution, implementation, and post-implementation activities, leveraging best practice standards and processes set out by the PMO and other industry organizations (including PMI)
Manage various critical aspects of a project: scope, project schedules, estimates, quality, work plans, and resource plans, risks & communication with project team members and other involved IT and business teams Ensure the scope statement is clearly understood and as agreed to by the project team, customer, and other stakeholders, and make recommendations on issues that challenge scope boundaries Manage timely, high-quality, & cost-effective service delivery to the client Identify business needs of the client, act as an interface between the technical team and the client
Create project plan to track progress, plan timelines and share with client
Work with the Architect and Technical Lead to prioritize and track new functionality and ongoing releases Provide support during Validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases with the client team to ensure all business requirements are met
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on project progress
Manage project dependencies and critical path, track project timelines and milestones
Work with QA and Documentation teams to ensure success of the total project
Resource Plan & Management
Optimize resource allocation, ramp-up and ramp-downs
Ensure smooth induction of resources in project
Manage team allocate task, manage schedule, and monitor progress regularly
Track and review teams performance by conducting periodic assessment of all the areas and reward and recognize performance
Provide motivation and direction to the team for successful completion of tasks
Delegate responsibility appropriately and empower team members to deliver results
Foster a team environment that attracts and retains good talent
Ensure that each team member has adequate skills and knowledge on technology, project management and software engineering processes
Manage relationships with key stakeholders and the project teams and enterprise for identifying and grooming future leaders
Communication, Collaboration & Risk Management
Be the single point of contact (SPOC) for various project related groups
Regularly and promptly coordinate and communicate with the customer and keep yourself approachable Manage and report customer's escalations with timely response and satisfactory resolution Provide regular status updates to the client via emails, scheduled status meetings, ad-hoc discussions etc.
Monitor risks, develop and execute risk mitigation plan at completion of every major milestone including project closure
Follow the change management process to review and accept changes affecting scope, timing, cost, and/or quality, as required and get them signed off from the client
Account Sustenance and Growth
Own, strategize, manage and drive customer delight
Own, manage and drive account management and expansion opportunities via high value relationship with the client and providing value adds
Works closely with sales & presales team to plan strategies as well as support them in closing the business
Qualifications & Skills
B.E./ B.Tech/ M. Tech/ MCA/ MBA
10+ years in total and 5+ years experience managing large, complex, cross-functional IT projects utilizing a structured project management methodology and formal tools/approaches.
Extensive experience in technical project/program management, project estimation, planning, tracking, scope
control, risk and issues management as well as status reporting.
Advanced knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, and presentation of
metrics.
Experience in managing change requests and prioritization in a fast-changing environment
Excellent understanding of process management, improvement practices, change management process, operation services
Experience managing multiple clients and a global client base with strong knowledge of Agile/SCRUM processes, experience in leading teams located in multiple regions would be an added advantage
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to encourage, motivate and mentor team members.
Extensive background on .Net / Angular JS / Java would be an added advantage
Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
