Job Purpose:
To design, develop, and enhance curriculum and instructional materials for online and live virtual training programs focused on the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, ensuring high engagement, learning effectiveness, and industry relevance.
Job Outline:
Develop complete course structures, lesson plans, and module outlines based on the latest AEC industry trends and standards.
Design learner-centric content using instructional design best practices tailored for adult professionals.
Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract technical knowledge and convert it into effective instructional material.
Integrate modern learning technologies, multimedia tools, and pedagogical innovations.
Align course designs with accreditation bodies, certification standards, and EdTech platforms' delivery requirements.
Job Specification
Knowledge/Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Education Technology, or a related field.
Masters Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or equivalent preferred.
Certifications in Instructional Design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Agile Learning Design) are an advantage.
Specific Skills:
Expertise in Instructional Design models and adult learning theories.
Ability to translate complex technical AEC concepts into learner-friendly materials.
Proficiency in using authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate) and LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas, etc.).
Strong skills in storyboarding, scripting, and content mapping.
Excellent collaboration, written communication, and project management skills.
Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, and responsive course design standards.
Desirable Experience:
5-8 years of instructional design experience, with at least 23 years in the AEC industry domain.
Exposure to working in EdTech companies, online program management (OPM) firms, or similar learning organizations preferred.
Experience designing courses for professional certifications or postgraduate education programs.
