We are currently hiring a Data Analyst with strong analytical, research, and data processing skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sharp critical thinking, software literacy, and the ability to transform raw data into meaningful business insights.
Position Overview
As a Data Analyst at Web Spiders, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support business and operational goals. You’ll leverage your analytical mindset, technical skills, and online research expertise to identify trends, verify data accuracy, and contribute to informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Collection & Research
Conduct extensive online research and navigate multiple data sources, directories, and unconventional platforms to gather relevant data.
Ensure high accuracy and consistency in data collection and validation.
Apply critical thinking to identify and analyze subtle variations in datasets.
2. Data Processing & Analysis
Use SQL and Regular Expressions (RegEx) for data extraction, cleaning, and manipulation.
Perform data annotation and markup when required.
Identify meaningful patterns, relationships, and insights from large datasets.
3. Reporting & Communication
Prepare structured reports, data summaries, and visual documentation for internal use.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explain findings and support strategic initiatives.
Clearly communicate reasoning and methodology behind data-related decisions.
4. Tools & Software Literacy
Quickly adapt to new and unconventional software platforms and interfaces.
Maintain proficiency with core tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduate in any discipline (preferred: background in Data Analytics, Market Research, or Data Science).
Experience
1–3 years of professional experience in data research, analysis, or related domains.
Prior experience in data annotation or data markup is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
Mandatory: SQL and Regular Expressions (RegEx).
Preferred: Exposure to data analytics tools or data visualization platforms.
Strong command over Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Soft Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex data structures efficiently.
Work Schedule & Compliance
Ability to work during US Eastern Time Zone (flexible split shift possible: half-day IST + half-day US EST).
Must have Aadhaar Card, verifiable Education Certificates, Employment Letters (if applicable), and criminal background clearance.
Preference for candidates residing within 1 hour of the Kolkata office.
