Position Purpose BNP Paribas is seeking highly motivated Data Science Interns to work on advanced analytics and machine learning models that support client services, trading, risk management, and investment strategies. The role involves working with large and diverse datasets and delivering data-driven insights used directly by business teams. Key Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities Explore, analyze, and interpret large and diverse datasets from multiple sources Perform data cleaning, normalization, and transformation Design and implement statistical, predictive, and optimization models Develop and test hypotheses through structured experiments Apply machine learning techniques such as classification, prediction, and clustering Contributing Responsibilities Support the development of ETL workflows and data pipelines Integrate new data sources with existing systems and datasets Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Data Science Lab Example Project Areas Client product recommendation models Automated market commentary generation Interest rate swap risk optimization Generative modeling for model governance Transformer-based quantitative investment strategies Technical & Behavioral Competencies Technical Skills Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics (Probability, Inference, Linear Algebra) Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and AI concepts Proficiency in Python and libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) Familiarity with NLP, Generative AI, and LangChain is a plus Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code Behavioral & Transversal Skills Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills High attention to detail and intellectual curiosity Willingness to experiment, learn from failures, and adapt quickly Education UG: Any Graduate PG: Any Postgraduate (Data Science / Engineering / Mathematics preferred) Key Skills Data Science • Machine Learning • Artificial Intelligence • Python • Statistical Analysis • Deep Learning • Predictive Modeling • Finance & Risk Management • NLP
