Job Summary
HiLabs is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to work on high-impact AI and Machine Learning solutions in the healthcare domain. This role involves solving complex, large-scale healthcare problems using data, statistics, and advanced ML techniques. You will collaborate closely with healthcare domain experts and engineering teams to build, optimize, and deploy production-ready analytics and ML solutions that drive real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities
Apply AI/ML techniques to identify, model, and solve complex healthcare and operational problems
Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning solutions on large and diverse datasets
Develop and prototype AI algorithms and software tools for healthcare analytics
Enhance and optimize existing ML models and algorithmic solutions
Perform quantitative data analysis using structured and unstructured healthcare datasets
Improve solution efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality
Translate business and healthcare use cases into data-driven insights for stakeholders
Extract and integrate data from multiple sources to support analytics and decision-making
Stay updated with recent advancements in machine learning and guide model training practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and domain experts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related fields
1–3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis and predictive modeling
Strong understanding of core Machine Learning concepts and underlying mathematics
Hands-on experience with ML techniques such as:
Classification, Regression
Clustering & Outlier Detection
Hypothesis Testing and A/B Testing
Proficiency in Python or Scala (Scala preferred)
Solid knowledge of statistical analysis, linear algebra, and numerical optimization
Experience with big data processing and large-scale datasets
Understanding of ML theory including bias-variance tradeoff, regularization, and loss functions
Familiarity with ML tools, frameworks, and best practices
Exposure to Text Mining / NLP algorithms is an advantage
